WWS Partnumber

The WWS article number for spokes consists of seven parts, each separated by a dot. Each part describes an essential characteristic of the corresponding spoke, so that every spoke we can produce can be exactly represented by the WWS article number.

Components of the article number

Part 1: Spoke type

Part 1 of the article number describes the spoke type and is either GL (for a smooth spoke), ED (single-thickness) or DD (double-thickness).

Part 2: Spoke head and diameter

Part 2 is followed by a combination of letters and numbers that represent the spoke head, wire diameter and, if applicable, the diameter of the thick end or reduction.

Part 3: Material and coating

Part 3 consists of a 1-4 digit combination of letters that define the material and coating of the spoke.

Part 4: Bending angle

Part 4 describes the bending angle of the spoke with a 3-digit number (e.g.: 095 = 95°).

Part 5: Bend or leg length

Part 5 describes the bend or leg length with a 3-digit number (e.g.: 125 = 12.5 mm).

Part 6: Thread

Part 6 provides information on whether the spoke is a finished spoke with thread (F) or a spoke without thread (R).

Part 7: Spoke length

Finally, part 7 shows the length of the spoke in mm with a 3-digit number.
